John Graham is a U.S. Army Veteran, training and compliance professional, and a past contributor within the U.S. Coast Guard operational environment. He is an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer and firearms instructor with extensive involvement in the National Rifle Association (NRA), including engagement with the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), as well as familiarity with Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) standards and professional expectations within regulated security environments.
John provides structured instruction in Oregon and Washington Concealed Carry training, along with pistol, rifle, and shotgun coursework aligned with NRA standards. His training philosophy is built around discipline, clarity, and real-world competence, with a strong emphasis on students learning not only how to run equipment effectively, but how to do so responsibly.
As a Chief Range Safety Officer, John places strict priority on safety culture and risk management to security companies. Training is conducted in controlled environments with clear standards for safe handling, situational awareness, and performance expectations. Safety isn’t an “add-on” in his courses, it’s the foundation.
John also incorporates professional readiness concepts including less-than-lethal tools and force options, emphasizing proper use, limitations, decision-making under stress, and responsible escalation control. His approach reinforces that force options require sound judgment, and the best outcomes are always those that reduce unnecessary harm and support safe resolution.
With experience supporting defense-adjacent and security industry training culture, John remains committed to professionalism, public trust, and building capable, ethical students and operators. Whether teaching a new firearm owner or a seasoned professional, his mission stays the same: raise the standard, strengthen safety practices, and build confident, responsible people.
